The goal of FAME is to give all local councils the opportunity to improve the provision of services to their customers. To modernise, transform, and provide better customer service local authorities must share and integrate information across traditional systems and services.
Increasingly, the needs of citizens and the legislative requirements of the Government mean that local authorities, health trusts, the police, schools and other agencies need to co-operate in the provision of care to citizens. For this to be done effectively these agencies need to agree protocols and processes for the exchange of information, and the way in which cases can be referred amongst them. They also need to agree the technical means by which this can be achieved. By doing this they create a multi-agency environment.
